Objective: Apply Russian Constructivism to the play poster "Death of a Salesman".
In “Death of a Salesman,” Willy Loman gets lost in the superficial American Dream, where success is money, and finds that his lack of this idea of success makes him more valuable dead than alive. He builds a fake reality to help himself feel better in a world he’s not happy in, and projects his vision of success for himself onto his sons.
Using the style of Russian Constructivism, I conveyed this structured and formulaic way of thinking that’s restricting Willy from achieving happiness. Highlighting this aspect of twisted reality — constructing a false storyline for yourself to convince yourself you’re successful or happy — I showed this puzzle-like agenda and a layered build-up for Willy who wasn’t able to see the whole picture.
